In case you haven’t heard the news, players who recruit a friend to the game through SWTOR’s new free trial program are eligible to receive a brand new, shiny Kurtob Alliance speeder if their friend then signs up for a subscription. More information is available on the official news article about the speeder.

It’s hard to really get a good look at the speeder from the video in the article, however. Here are some screenshots of how it looks in-game, with two different character models showing off the goods (click on the images to bring up the full size versions!):

It’s definitely a different speeder model than some of the, well, buckets we’re used to seeing in-game. Some players love the model, others dislike it. What do you think? Share your thoughts in this thread with the rest of the community. Special thanks to the posters who shared their speeder images with us!

Today, BioWare announced SWTOR’s free trial program, which allows players to level in SWTOR up to level 15 for free with no time restrictions, along with a new friend recruitment reward as incentive for getting friends to join the trial then sign up for a subscription– the Kurtob Alliance Speeder.

Today we are excited to announce the Star Wars™: The Old Republic™ Free Trial. Now you will be able to live out your very own Star Wars™ saga with thousands of other players up to level 15 with no charge or time limit! The Star Wars: The Old Republic Free Trial allows individuals, without a previously active Star Wars: The Old Republic game account, to see a portion of what the game has to offer with no payment method required.

Free Trial participants will experience the opening adventures of each of the eight character classes in the game. Players will explore their classes’ Origin World, and may even have the opportunity to visit their faction’s Capital World! Additionally, Free Trial players will have the chance to face off against other players in Player-vs.-Player Warzones, or join up with friends and play through a Flashpoint.

Read the full announcement with all the details and restrictions here. BioWare has also posted a Free Trial FAQ. More information about the friend recruitment speeder is also available, along with a pretty nifty video of the speeder in action.

Oh, and previous SWTOR players can also check out all the goodies of Game Update 1.3: Allies for free until July 17th. Here are all the details on that.
