I don’t have any problem with them adding novelty crap to the hardcores for a premium. WoW did the same thing with the magic sparkle pony. I have yet to see anything that has been added that hasn’t my sub covered that I would have interest in having.

Thank you. Hearing all the incessant bitching and bad press that is generated by such a vocal minority is dispiriting. It’s good to see that at least some people get it. i love SWTOR and I look forward to playing it with my friend whenever I can. I like to think many people feel the same way I do and I’m glad that seems to be the case. Excellent article.

I’m Biochem 450

I simply gather mats to make L54 green implants. Then I RE into MK-9 slot components with a 100% success rate, plus it also gives me back 1-2 mats worth about $400.

It only costs an average of $4,470 (in mission costs) to get the mats for each implant. So 1 x MK-9 slot component costs me $4,470 – $400 for the refunded mats = $4070

Therefore the total cost for a level 450 Biochem to make 10 x MK-9 slot components is approx $40,700.

This is the base “cost of production” on all servers since the cost of crew missions does not change.

Add $4600 for the additional mats (for Synthweaving) and I can acquire MK-9 Augment Kits for approx $45,300.

I can either accumulate these for my own gear or sell the slot components for 2x on the GTN.

So I really don’t agree that buying them outright is the best way to go. You’ll be paying 2-3 times what a 450 Biochem can make them for.
