When SWTOR adopts its hybrid free-to-play model this fall, it was announced on Tuesday that owners of the Collector’s Edition will be receiving some extra goodies. Quite a bit of goodies, in fact– 1000 extra Cartel Coins as long as their paid subscription is still active, and a Heroes’ Banner. After this announcement, many players wondered why those who purchased the Digital Deluxe Edition of SWTOR weren’t getting any bonuses. After all, they paid more for the game than owners of the Standard Edition, and the extra money went toward digital items. Why wasn’t there a bonus offered?
More than one thread was made on the official forums questioning this decision. Here is the latest. The first post reads:
(Please note this is not a rage thread, I am NOT angry, just curious as to the logic of not giving any virtual/digital benefits to DDE players as well)
For all of us that purchased the Digital Deluxe Edition, I don’t see why we don’t get the Heroes’ Banner as well? (It is a digital/virtual item) We paid extra for exclusive in-game items, why are the CE players the only ones getting this exclusive in-game item when they paid extra for the physical items?
I realize that CE players paid a lot for their copies of the game for the extra items that came in the box, but those of us who purchased the Digital Deluxe Edition for the items are usually those die-hard item collectors (who are after every last special in-game item). If you support this let me know below.

Hi folks, I just wanted to drop in to let you know that, thanks to all of your feedback, we are currently working on something for Digital Deluxe players. We’re not quite ready to say what exactly, but know that this is definitely happening. Thanks again!
Awesome news for owners of the Digital Deluxe Edition!
