With the release of Game Update 1.3, most SWTOR players are, of course, enjoying the new features it brought, but many players are also beginning to wonder what we’ll see next in Game Update 1.4. The Group Finder tool and Ranked Warzones were much-needed additions, but what’s next on the horizon? What else do we need the most?

A couple threads have popped up on the official forums with some great suggestions. Here is one of them:

“Bioware hit at least two key things that were wanted by the players and community which was a group finder system and ranked warzones. There are still many expectations from the community for Bioware to implement into the game. A few ideas would be guild ship, paid character transfers, cross server warzones/ cross faction LFG system, additional race unlocks, and etc. So what are you expecting from the game next?”

Definitely some good ideas. Keep reading for a huge list of ideas players have!

As you read through the list, you’ll notice that, well, a lot of SWTOR players out there are also dreamers. Not that there’s anything wrong in that! We won’t be seeing everything on this list in the next patch or two, or even within the next year most likely– but hey, we can always hope, right? And the good news? We will be seeing a large portion of this list within the next year, I imagine, thanks to the reports we heard during E3.

  • Guild ships
  • Cross-server Group Finder/Warzone tool
  • Fixes to the Group Finder for Heroic quests
  • Paid open server transfers/name changes
  • Dual spec
  • New content (dailies, story, planets, operations, flashpoints, warzones)
  • Solo-queue Ranked Wazones
  • Rework of Ilum
  • Additional Legacy perks/adjustments
  • Class/balance fixes
  • Cathar and/or additional races
  • Same-gender content
  • Crafting fixes
  • Additional customization options, including more outfits
  • Gear/appearance tab
  • Ship customization options
  • Changes to space missions
  • Improved player/developer feedback
  • Improvements to the PTS server
  • Additional social immersion options (sitting on chairs, chat bubbles, etc.)
  • Guild perks
  • Improvements to how the game loads planets
  • Codex system changes (achievement system, perhaps?)
  • Hobby system (Pazaak, swoop racing, etc.)

Anything else you’d like to see added to SWTOR in the next patch and beyond? Feel free to chime in with your suggestions in the comments section!

Anything else I’d like to see added to SWTOR in the next patch and beyond? OPEN WORLD SPACE PLAY. It was taken from us when SWG shut down, SWTOR needs to give it back… not this Star Fox crap.
Either that or change the name to Land Wars: The Old Republic.

This may sound odd, but I get tired of constantly being in combat. I would like two changes made. First to not be so “tunneled in”, the majority of game play it’s a tight path, hallway, or cave. Second, less gangs of mobs. At first it may have been epic to kill packs of three, but now it has gotten old. If its not a pack of three it’s two with one of them being a silver. I guess I would consider myself more of an explorer, yet in SWTOR as soon as my quest objective is complete I quick hearth out of there. The idea of fighting umpteen more mobs to open my map has no joy for me.

Good one, and yeah, I agree. In most MMOs, I’ll happily gather groups while questing, but in SWTOR, I find myself stealthing around more instead (well, on my characters that can). I think part of it’s the rather ridiculous nature of bonus series kill quests at times (kill 20 guys, then click 12 things, click 8 things, then kill 30 more guys? Really?), and part of it’s the perfectly-placed packs of mobs. Mob placements aren’t random enough, and there’s far too many mob groups in many locations.

1- Efficiency mode for flash points- no dialog, just kill and loot.
2- Larger group size for FPs/OPs. This would ease up on the queue times for dps classes as well. 4 man groups and 8 man OPs don’t feel “massive”
    3- Real server forums
    4- Guild finder tool
5- Friend legacy and shared friends list for alts.
6- FP completion ports you back to original location, not FP exit.
    7- Super servers.

      Also- Addons & Macro support!

    • Rayvan

      How about a calendar?

  • Darth Chatbubble

I definitely want chat bubbles. That’s the number one thing I want ASAP now that 1.3 is out of the door.

There are many other things I’d like to see, but chat bubbles reside in priority above them all for I am a social player and also a roleplayer and my playstyle isn’t possible without chat bubbles. I’ve got four level 50 characters, hit Legacy level 50, did pretty much all in the game to tide me over until we finally got chat bubbles. Now there isn’t much left to do and still no chat bubbles on the horizon…I really need them now more than ever to be able to enjoy social roleplay the way I’m used to from SWG.

I have a feeling that they think that f2p will make cross server stuff un needed. They just have to be dumb not to add paid services like name, faction, server, appearance, pets, boa mounts, I would pay money for the ability to use macros.

    • MstSage

Like I already stated, and so many others have cross-server destroys the community it’s a horrible thing which if I remember correctly is why BW is avoiding implementing something like that.

  • MstSage

I like the looks of most of these save Cross Server Warzone/PvE tools, IMHO that will ruin the community worse than anything. Dual Spec, yeah would be nice, but there really is no need for it maybe a reduced cost for respeccing if you have the field respec.

I’d love to see additional changes. With as many of the servers they’ve shut down I think it would be viable to atleast make our Legacy system account wide not just by server, and/or more character slots per server. I mean really 8slots per server?! I’d like to see anywhere from 10-15per.

Lose the cyborg class and make cybernetic part of decorating the characters.
