Despite the gloomy storm of complaints on the official forums, a large portion of SWTOR players are actually very pleased with the server transfer process so far. Evidence of these happy players is seen on most of the destination servers, where populations thrive, groups are readily formed, and planets and fleets buzz with activity. It’s nice to see life on our servers again. While browsing the forum topics last night, one in particular caught my eye that was positive.

Here is the first post in that thread:

“Dear Bioware,

I’m sorry to report that despite transfers, queues, nerfs, changes, redesigns and new content – That I remain mostly happy.

I would like to see a few things changed with the game, it’s by no means perfect, but these games never are. Personally I’d like to see a few more things made legacy wide such as datacrons, codexs, commendations etc.

Keep up the mostly good work.”

The thread goes on, with players chiming in, stating that they, too, are pleased with transfers, and remain mostly happy with the state of SWTOR despite the community’s negativity toward the game. What’s the one thing that will keep the game alive? That’s right– the players.

Here’s another player’s experiences:

“Today, on Corellian Run it was like one of those summer days when a storm rolls in and the skies open up. It was literally raining players and we were all pretty much dancing in the raid. Game is alive again.”

Nice little analogy. I felt the same way on my server the first day transfers opened up.

Transfers = more grouping? Yes, please!

“I have to admit it was awesome. I basically teamed up all day with different random people doing all kinds of stuff in the game. It literally just took about 2 seconds for someone to respond to group up. Ops are a plenty too if you don’t have guild buddies on. Great stuff. One thing though. On some items in Black Hole like the crates, they need to respawn faster.”

And finally:

“I am one of those enjoying the game. The game has been out for 6 months now, and BW is getting things in order. The future is looking good.

It is nice to see some positive from fellow fans.”

Couldn’t have said it better myself.

That’s great that so many are enjoying the game now. It must be nice to play on a populated server and have all the benefits that go along with it.

But what about those of us on an EU RP-PVP server? No transfers to or from for us. And 80 people on the Republic side last night–on the *entire* Republic side. And I’m not abandoning my lvl 20 Legacy to go reroll somewhere else. I’m not giving up characters I’ve spent months developing. I’ve already done that once.

You’d think Bioware could have thought of some way, before the transfer process went live, to avoid leaving some dedicated players out in the cold.

I know– what they’re doing to you guys is terrible. I wrote an article about it all a few days ago. I don’t agree with many, many ways they approached transfers.

Thanks, Laura. I know I, for one, and I’d assume many others, are thankful for the support.

What burns me up is that I freakin *love* this game. To be seriously considering walking away from it over this issue is more than frustrating. It’s not just the fact that they haven’t “found a solution” (which I don’t buy; I think they are just hesitant to enact the solution). It’s more that they won’t tell us anything more than typical PR rubbish, and even that sparsely. After 12 days and 320 posts, we’ve received all of 3 responses from Bioware, none of which say anything substantive.

I can’t in good conscience keep playing considering this clusterfu**. But I am going to miss this game something terrible. We had finally begun to form a good community, and now it’s been ripped apart by all of this.

Anyway, thanks again for the support. I’ll probably still come here to keep up with things even if I am gone fro m the game. It’ll be like following old friends on Facebook that you know you’ll never see again. :(
