Take a look at the official forums and you will see many pages of people complaining about the numerous bugs in SWTOR. There are currently issues with loot not dropping, bosses being unkillable, UI not responding, Horrid FPS issues, design mechanics that aren’t “working as intended,” and a dozens more. What many of these people are forgetting is that this game is really only a couple weeks old, and bugs are normal for an MMO at this stage of their life. Maybe it’s also because SWTOR is coming off the heels of the extremely polished Rift launch as well. While Rift also had bugs, none of them were game breaking to the point players couldn’t do the content. Unfortunately, this isn’t the case for many of the bugs in SWTOR.

It’s clear that the developer team is hard at work at resolving these bugs for the players, because most of the first patch 1.o.1 was focused on bug fixes. In addition, we now see the next patch 1.0.2 on the PTS which is also focused on bug fixes. Unfortunately, all of these bug fixes are barely scratching the surface of what needs to be fixed. The developers have made posts on the forums listing known issues and even a few workarounds to temporarily fix some of these bugs. Sadly, the list is out of date and far from complete. If you’re unable to tread through the drudges of the forums for answers due to there not being a search feature, here are a few of the bugs and workarounds that are ailing many of the players.

UI

      • (Bug) Many players are experiencing their UIs to become unresponsive and non-interactive.
      • (Workaround) Hitting Control + U twice will reset the UI and fix this issue.
      • (Bug) The mouse cursor sometimes disappears from the screen.
      • (Workaround) Hitting the middle mouse button will return the mouse to your screen.
      • (Bug) Guild interface doesn’t update players online.
      • (Workaround) Hitting Control + U twice will reset the UI and fix this issue.

Items (No Workarounds here)

        • (Bug) Set bonuses on items are not shown from the vendor window and not shown while linking to chat.
        • (Bug) Linking items with stat bonuses from critting crafted items doesn’t list the extra stats.
        • (Bug) Items randomly disappear from inventory.

Gameplay

          • (Bug) Some zones are giving players horrible FPS lag.
          • (Bug) Error code 9000 Disconnects
          • (Information Request) This one has been so bad that the developers are asking for player information. If you are having this error please respond to this thread.

There are of course many more than just the ones that have been listed here. Almost every Flashpoint has several which would have been too much to cover. However, these seem to be some of the major issues that are driving a large part of the community insane at the moment. For more bugs and a few more workarounds you can always look at Bioware’s sticky.
